Hironari Tomioka

Mr. Tomioka has been both the Chairman & CEO of NTT DATA Asia Pacific from July 2022 and the CEO of NTT DATA Thailand from Sep 2016 after initially joining the company in 1997.

As Chairman & CEO of NTT DATA Asia Pacific, Mr. Tomioka is in charge of the IT consulting and digital solution provider headquartered in Singapore. NTT DATA Asia Pacific supports multinational corporations, primarily in automotive, electronics, retailers, banking, and insurance industries in the rapidly growing APAC market, by leveraging our accumulated experiences in NTT DATA Group worldwide.

As CEO of NTT DATA Thailand, Mr. Tomioka oversees business management alongside the overall business strategy. NTT DATA Thailand covers banks and automobiles as its priority industries, developing a wide range of offerings such as consulting services, digital transformation, and enterprise and payment solutions. The company has led the supply of services as a strategic partner for top-tier customers within the industry.

Previously, he acted as Executive Manager of NTT DATA in Cards & Payments Division.

In this role, he was responsible for expanding the payment business, one of NTT DATA’S strengths, in the APAC region and covering business expansion M&A from initial execution to post-merger integration. He helped perform M&A in Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia, among other areas in South-East Asia, while also being in charge of account management and business strategy. During this time, growth was especially seen in Thailand, integrating the NTT DATAT Thailand business from scratch and payment business acquired from M&A and further promoting One NTT DATA Thailand by adding the group company Locus.

Before joining the Cards & Payments Division, Mr. Tomioka worked at NTT DATA AgileNet, located in Silicon Valley in the US for two years. He would take the experience here of learning about new payment-related solutions and bring them back to Japan for new service implementation.

Mr. Tomioka attended Keio University from Apr 1991 to Mar 1997, where he achieved a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in the Faculty of Science and Technology.
