Using Tech For Good - COVID-19 Response
NTT DATA Services is providing staff volunteer skills to support non profit organizations in need. Examples of a few include: The Ronald McDonald House (houses families for children in long term cancer treatment programs so they are near the hospital); Food banks, Veteran job placement and training center; organization 3D printing face shields for distribution to front line emergency personnel; domestic shelters and children's education forum. It is growing as of today as we are adding more non profits to support daily.
The UX/UI team created a tool to match staff volunteers with their skills and non profits needing support and the CSR team managed and helped the process move forward to place people with their technology and related professional skills with the right organizations to help augment their staff in a time of crisis. All volunteer support was done remotely and is ongoing. Offering examples include: Wordpress training so staff could build out their website; resume training; mock interviews; Microsoft Office Suite training; project management for logistics planning; writing to help with website content; refurbishing laptops to give to front line emergency personnel and more.
